Research
We aim to develop a method for analyzing the efficiency and environmental impact of basic materials throughout their life cycle, including production, use, recycling, and disposal, using objective measures. This research addresses the growing international concern over the sustainability of material consumption. We will evaluate how improvements in material properties, such as strength and lifespan, and analyses of material flows and future trends, including recycling impurities, affect sustainability. Our goal is to identify the best practices for material management, incorporating an international recycling network, and to propose policies to governments and industries for optimal material management.
