Research Field
physical properties of materials, strength of materials, quasicrystals, photonic crystals

Research

Physical properties of dislocations are investigated. Growth mechanism and physical properties ofquasicrystals, which possess a peculiar type of structural order, are also the subjects under investigation. Recently, researches on photonic amorphous materials and photonic quasicrystals are also conducted. Current topics are:
a) Plasticity of crystalline, quasicrystalline and amorphous materials
b) Physical properties of dislocations in topological insulators
c) Growth mechanism of quasicrystals
d) Photonic amorphous materials and photonic quasicrystals
