Research

We consider elementary materials, steel and silicon, as circular materials, and aim at the establishment of sustainable society by developing their production and recycling processes including by-product treatment. Since reaction rates are large enough at high temperatures, evaluation of the reaction limit and its driving force is often an important key to design the process. Physicochemical studies for the innovative development of “Iron- and steel-making processes”, “Solar-grade silicon (SOG-Si) refining processes” and “High-value-added recycling of waste materials and by-product” are being carried out through thermodynamics and physical properties.
