Research Field
containerless processing, structure analysis of glass, molecular dynamics simulations

Research

My research is primarily focused on investigating the fundamental problems related to glass science.
a) New glasses by containerless process – we prepared new glass system by using the containerless process and found some glasses showed high refractive indices. These high refractive indices are attributed to the characteristic atomic arrangement and chemical bond in the glasses. We clarify the glass formation by the containerless process and the relation between the atomic arrangement and the physical properties.
b) Glass structure and computer simulations: The description of the glass structure is still a difficult problem even now. Using structural analysis and molecular dynamics simulations, we will clarify the relation between atomic arrangement and physical properties mainly for the new glasses.
