Early diagnosis tool for childhood kidney disease

A research group led by Associate Professor Yutaka Harita and Assistant Professor Keiichi Takizawa of The University of Tokyo Hospital, Dr. Koji Ueda of Cancer Precision Medicine Center, Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research, and Professor Takanori Ichiki of School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo has developed a new biomarker for early-stage detection of decreased renal function using urinary extracellular vesicles from pediatric renal disease patients.
