Research

Our main research topics are to elucidate the fracture mechanism of novel structural materials and to develop numerical methods to predict mechanical properties. By combining the acoustic emission method and the information science method, we aim to capture the microscopic deformation in the material dynamically and quantitatively to link it to the macroscopic mechanical properties. We are also working on the development of the structural health monitoring method for efficient and accurate diagnosis of structural materials.
